Always having been a very visually oriented person, making a living from the arts really was the only choice for me. As a child I always loved to paint and draw and as I grew older no camera was ever safe from me. Both became even more of a passion at High School in England where I majored in Fine Art and took every photography course on offer.

I think it was my mother's attitude to raising her children which fostered my talents the most. She encouraged every creative outlet from the time I was a small child growing up in Switzerland right through when I left home after high school in England. And well into my 20's and now in my 30's, she is right there at my back. She pushes me hard to succeed but encourages me to find what I am passionate about. She helps me every step of the way - without her, this website would not exist.

After I finished school I lost my way a little in terms of the visual and went into the Finance world. But the paint brushes came out again every now and then and the camera was with me at all times.

It was living in Padova, Italy for a year which really got the creative juices going. I spent every free moment in Venice, walking the streets, sitting by the canals eating a gelato, enjoying the world go by. What a feast for the eyes it was. Just take Carnevale; two short weeks in grey, dreary, cold weather; but the colors of the costumes are bouncing of the walls of the old Palazzi, the joy and laughter echoes across the city like music. I'm not sure how many photos I brought back with me, but for the early digital era it was an insane number.

It took another few years before I got the courage to head out of the office and try to make it on my own.

San Francisco, California: that's where it all started happening. The colors that abound in California are remarkable. The people a joy to watch. There are places here where it is almost impossible to take a bad picture. And San Francisco itself is a wonder.

The City speaks to me in a way that no other city ever has. She whispers and flirts. She seduces the senses and wakes up parts of me that I didn't even know I had. And in the faces around me I see the same thing happening. And I want to capture these passions for myself and others.
